Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have pain in the upper right side of my stomach. I went for an ultrasound which showed a lipoma. I feel pain only when I press this lipoma, and sometimes I feel very uncomfortable. When I first visited the doctor, he suggested the tablet Pantoprazole. What should I do? Can medicine cure it, or is surgery the only option left for me?
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Do not worry, as lipoma is usually harmless. It remains there for decades but does not hurt. Sometimes, it might get infected or calcified. In that case, surgery is indicated. It does not regress with medicines, so only surgery can cure it, but surgery is done only for aesthetic reasons.
