What lifestyle modifications can be done to maintain a healthy digestive system?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old man and I weigh 136 pounds. I am looking to lose weight in a healthy manner. I am also suffering from constipation, acidity, and bloating. What dietary changes can I adopt to achieve weight loss while managing these digestive issues? Are there specific foods or meal plans that can assist in both weight reduction and alleviating constipation, acidity, and bloating? Additionally, should I consider any exercise routines or lifestyle modifications to support a healthier digestive system along with losing weight? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing and I can understand your concern.

Constipation occurs when there is a lack of fiber in your diet. So, I suggest you take a high-fiber diet such as green vegetables, and fruits like bananas, papaya, and oranges. Also, drink plenty of water and juices throughout the day as it will help make your stools soft and you will not have constipation again.

To reduce weight, you should exercise regularly such as running at least 1.86 miles a day. You can also join the gym if you like and you can do exercises on a regular basis. Avoid fast foods like burgers, pizzas, and also sweets. I suggest taking syrup Lactulose 15 ml daily for constipation before sleeping for 15 days.

I hope I have answered all your queries.

Do revert in case of any further queries.

Thank you.
