Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a pain in the right side of my back along the middle. It hurts when I sneeze, cough, or even bend down. I have not done any exercise so it could not because of a pulled muscle.
It started yesterday morning and I took Ibuprofen for pain but the pain is not relieved. As the day passed, I noticed my urine was dark in color. I am in so much pain.
What could be the reason? Please help me.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Back pain on the right side with dark urine can be caused by kidney problem such as pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, cystitis, kidney stones or some other renal disorders. Please keep an eye on your blood pressure and temperature. Avoid taking too much of Ibuprofen as this can worsen the condition.
You must visit your physician as soon possible and get a urine dipstick or urine test done along with proper clinical examination to avoid complications. Other investigation that might be informative are ultrasound of abdomen (kidney's), biochemistry (creatinine, urea, protein, albumin, C-reactive protein) etc.
I hope this makes things clear.
Feel free to write to me for further evaluation or if in doubt.
Thank you.
