Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had a frozen embryo transfer via IVF (in vitro fertilization). I got a positive test result after six days. I had some minor symptoms, such as light cramps which were going on and off. Over the weekend, I went on vacation. What I hoped would be a relaxing trip ended up being stressful due to many bumpy roads everywhere I went. I felt the symptoms last time a few days back, but then we drove over the big pothole. I am worried I lost the pregnancy and am afraid to test. Could the impact have caused me to lose the pregnancy?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern. My first piece of advice for you is to think positively. You still have no bleeding, and cramps could be due to embryo transfer, so take things positively. Stress, anxiety, and negative thoughts release hormones that are not good for health and developing conception. Do have serum beta Hcg test (human chorionic gonadotropin) and observe for any bleeding, cramps, or one-sided pain, then report immediately to your IVF (in vitro fertilization) center or early pregnancy emergency unit. Continue Folic acid 0.4 mg daily if you have a normal BMI (body mass index) and no chronic medical issues. Otherwise, you can have 5 mg of Folic acid. Have regular check-ups and recurrent follow up of any health issues you have, such as diabetes or thyroid, as these imbalances are not good for early conception. I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
