Patient's Query
Dear doctor,
I am a 37 yrs old woman, I had my first conception at the age of 36 but in the 3rd month I had miscarriage, since then I'm trying to conceive. I tried IUI, IVF once each..but both failed..my gynecologist said that embryo used for IVF was of good quality, he said may be my egg quality is not good. May I know how I conceived for the first time if I had bad egg quality? How embryo is of good quality if egg quality is bad? My gynecologist said he is thinking that may not be true. I am very much feeling low after IVF failed. Can u please help me what can be the possible reason and how I can conceive?
Hi,
Don't get disheartened and don't give up firstly if egg quality is not good embryo will not be good but one thing we need to remember here is that your age is not only affecting egg quality but rest of the uterus also. Once the embryo is placed inside u it will be ur uterus duty to take forward the pregnancy so in case of problems with uterus acceptability of embryo the IVF (invitro fertilization) would have failed in IVF only till the part where embryo is made and put into you is in doctors hand rest lies in hand of god. Chance of pregnancy is only 50% even if it's IVF. So one failure should not get you down. Get up and try again. No harm. I have had patients with many IUI (intrauterine insemination) and few IVF failure who conceived naturally so do not close doors stay strong and try.
