Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I need help diagnosing my skin condition. I have narrowed it down to tinea versicolor, pityriasis rosea, pityriasis versicolor, or psoriasis. It has gotten worse in winter. When I have a hot shower, the affected areas itch intensively.

Leading up to my recent outbreak, I have been under considerable stress and smoking a lot.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your case.

You are not having psoriasis or tinea versicolor, or pityriasis rosea.

It is subacute eczema, and it gets aggravated with more dryness in winter. Taking a bath with hot water also extracts moisture from the body.

Please mix Tacrolimus or Clobetasol propionate ointment in an equal amount with petroleum jelly and apply it on lesions two times a day.

I advice you to consult with a specialist and take the medications mentioned above with their consent.

Do not apply any antiseptic.

Also, mix glycerine and rose water in equal amounts and apply on the whole body after a bath when the body is slightly wet.

Do not rub with a towel.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
