Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 20-year-old girl who recently started experiencing discomfort during arousal. The problem began as a bloating sensation in the lower abdomen region but has become increasingly severe over time. I have never had this happen before and am concerned about the likelihood because I am not sexually active.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It is most probable that you have gastroenteritis, but because you have not indicated the duration, if the illness has just been present for a few days or weeks, I recommend getting a stool test and a microscope done. As this can offer us the concept of bacteria or protozoa examined in feces because illness from poisonous bacteria can naturally kill the gut flora, resulting in a loose motion
I recommend taking probiotics and two teaspoons of Metamucil (psyllium fiber derivatives) for a few days to bulk up your stools.
If the stool tests show that you have bacteria or protozoa, I recommend taking a tablet Cefixime (Cephalosporins) and tablet Ornidazole (Nitroimidazole) for seven days. However, do not use tablet. Ciplox Tz (Ciprofloxacine) without first having a stool test.
If the condition is chronic, it is most likely irritable bowel syndrome, an inflammatory illness of the large intestine. This ailment is distinguished by stomach pain, diarrhea, bloating, and constipation. However, it is not life-threatening.
I suggest you practice changes in lifestyle and diet:
IBS (irritatable bowel syndrome) improves over time by changing your daily diet and activity. Here are some suggestions:
Caffeine, such as coffee, tea, or soda, should be avoided.
Increase your fiber intake by eating more veggies, fruits, whole grains, and nuts.
Regularly consume three to four glasses of water.
Tobacco use should be avoided.
To relieve stress, you must use relaxation methods and exercise.
Consumption of dairy products must be minimized.
Instead of fewer large meals, try eating more frequent little meals.
Keep a food diary to help you discover the foods that cause IBS.
I recommended the following tests for the diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome, and they are:
Upper Gastrointestinal (G.I) endoscopy, Colonoscopy
I hope this helps.
Thank you and take care.
Regards.
