Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old female who weighs 198.4 pounds. I had unprotected intercourse with my partner about a month ago and took the contraceptive pill. Prior to using the pill, my periods were usually regular and ranged from mild to normal flow. However, after taking the pill, I experienced minor bleeding for two days and have not had my periods since. I also took two pregnancy tests, all of which came back negative. I am also seeing a little bump-like projection in my pubic area that is sensitive and uncomfortable to touch, and I am scared that it is an abscess rather than regular acne. I also had a history of abscess in my underarm two years ago. Kindly help.

As a result, when you have your next period, it is extremely likely that it will be on time or delayed by 7-10 days. There is absolutely little risk of pregnancy in your instance because you took the pill on time (within 24 hours).This lump is caused by an infection or a hormone imbalance and looks like folliculitis (infection of the hair follicle).
