What causes continuous fatigue and muscle cramps?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Being a 32-year-old woman. I have been dealing with constant fatigue, muscle cramps, and even some irregular heartbeats. It is affecting my daily life, and I cannot seem to find any relief.

  1. Is this due to some deficiency, and how can it cause these symptoms?
  2. I have tried altering my diet, including superfoods, but nothing seems to be making a significant difference. Is there a way to test for vitamin or mineral deficiency, and if I am deficient, what kind of dietary supplements or medicine can I take to correct this?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Your symptoms may be due to a nutrient deficiency. Here are some possible deficiencies and their symptoms:

  1. Iron deficiency anemia includes fatigue, weakness, pale skin, shortness of breath, and chest pain.

  2. Magnesium deficiencies include muscle cramps, weakness, tremors, and irregular heartbeats.

  3. Vitamin B12 deficiencies include fatigue, weakness, irregular heartbeats, and neurological symptoms such as memory loss and confusion.

  4. Vitamin D deficiency, including fatigue, muscle weakness, and bone pain.

  5. Calcium deficiency, including muscle cramps and spasms.

To test for these deficiencies, I may recommend blood tests to measure the levels of these nutrients in your body. They may recommend dietary supplements or medication to correct the deficiency based on the results.

It is important to note that supplements should be taken under the guidance of a healthcare professional to ensure they are safe and appropriate for your individual needs. Additionally, try to meet your nutritional needs through a healthy diet before taking supplements, as that is always the best option.

I hope this information will help you.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
