Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Please explain about interlabial pads. How is it used? Why do some women prefer it?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Interlabial pad is a modified version of the traditional sanitary pad. It is petal or leaf-shaped, and it is highly absorbing. It is designed in a way to have a direct menstrual flow to the center and prevents the blood leaking to the surrounding. It also prevents the blood flowing into the gluteal fold. It is worn within the two labia. Women would like to wear it because it is highly absorbent and it prevents moisture build-up and fungal infections. It is worn externally, and the chances of getting bacterial infections in the urinary tract and pelvic inflammatory diseases are low. It is small and comfortable. The doctor prescribes it to the women having stress or urge incontinence. There is less chance of getting a toxic shock syndrome.
