Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Are there any specific medicines or therapies to treat depression-related anosmia?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Depression does not relate to anosmia (loss of smell). Anosmia is an organic condition and you need to take the help of an ENT specialist. However, if you are talking about insomnia (sleep disturbances), then it is surely related to depression. Depression and insomnia are interconnected. If you do not sleep well, it can cause depression. If you have depression then it can affect your sleep. I suggest you take tablet Escitalopram 10 mg (Escitalopram oxalate 10 mg) daily in the morning for depression and tablet Clonazepam 0.5 mg (Benzodiazepine 0.5 mg) at night. Consult your doctor and take medicines accordingly. You can also take the help of the nearest psychologist for counseling, as it will help you relieve your problem or stress.
I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of more queries.
Thank you.
