What are the methods for regulating sleep?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 37-year-old woman with two children. I am a housewife who spend my days managing the house. I frequently spend time in bed with my phone, watching movies, or browsing the internet. I recently discovered that I am not getting enough sleep and that my sleep patterns are disrupted. I have no medical history, I am not on any medications, and have an active sex life. I wake up in the middle of the night and sleep all day. Please assist me in overcoming it.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

To have proper sleep, I would suggest you practice the following methods.

  1. Limit your screen time.
  2. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
  3. Every day, go for a 45-minute walk or practice yoga.
  4. Avoid foods that stimulate the CNS (central nervous system), such as junk food, carbonated beverages, or anything containing caffeine.
  5. Avoid using gadgets for at least two hours before going to bed.
  6. Before going to bed, put your phone in another room.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.
