Does elevated IGF-1 cause brain fog, dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, and intense anxiety?

Hi doctor,

For the past month, I have been suffering from symptoms of brain fog, dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, and intense anxiety. I noticed that on my recent blood work, my IGF-1 is elevated and is at 417 ng/mL. I am currently taking Liothyronine 15 mcg. Is this level cause for concern, and can it cause these symptoms? I also have hypothyroidism which is being treated, and low testosterone. Please help.

I just read your query, and from what you have attached, it appears that you have growth hormone excess production in your body. IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor 1) is a screening test to screen for growth hormone excess, which you have done. Next comes confirmation of the diagnosis, and that is by oral glucose tolerance test and measuring actual growth hormone levels. Then pituitary MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) to see the pituitary gland. All this will be done in the same place where you got your recent tests done. Yes, the symptoms that you mention can be due to this condition.
