Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My wife is eight weeks pregnant. She has frequent vomiting, dysentery, and gastric trouble. I am waiting for a doctor's appointment. Does she need medications to overcome the symptoms? She is taking prenatal vitamins and mineral supplements with Folate. In addition, she took a urine test. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Your wife has emesis gravidarum, commonly seen in the first trimester of pregnancy. I suggest (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) combination drug of Pyridoxine and Doxylamine. Ask her to eat ginger in the form of candies or tablets. Ask her to drink adequate fluids. Ask her to consume dry foods in the morning.
