Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have taken too many calcium and vitamin D tablets in the past, and now I think I have hypercalcemia. I am experiencing the symptoms of tight bones, memory problems, reduced daily activities, and sudden high breathing.
Please guide me on which blood tests I should do and how I can reduce calcium and vitamin D levels in my body. Now, I deeply regret taking Calcium and Vitamin D tablets.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and can understand your concern.
Do not worry, I am here to take care of you. Based on your symptoms, it seems you may have developed hypercalcemia (abnormal high level of calcium in the blood). Please do a serum calcium level (a blood test that measures the amount of calcium present in the blood) and share the result with me. The best treatment is to stop the medications, and your symptoms will return to normal. Schedule another follow-up appointment for further evaluation.
I hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards.
