Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had many tests like the DHL test, HSG test, and sonography, but no positive results came in pregnancy though reports of every test were normal. Kindly suggest to me what to do. Why did I not conceive?
Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
DHL (diagnostic hysterolaparoscopy) and HSG (hysterosalpingography) show no blockage in the fallopian tubes. The scan can only show that the uterus has no problems like fibroids. Other factors you need to evaluate:
1. Wife should get thyroid and prolactin levels in the blood. If she is over 35, have serum AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) to know the number of eggs available in the ovary.
2. Husband should have a semen analysis from a fertility center, where a doctor or embryologist evaluates semen.
If all these are normal, you can plan for ovulation induction with tablets and hormone injections with or without IUI (intrauterine insemination). This will improve your pregnancy chances by four times. Never get depressed or overanxious. When the right time comes, you will surely make it.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
