Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Two months back, I went to a sex worker had a protected blowjob and sucked her boobs. No anal or penetrative sex was performed. I did not feel sick after that for some time. A few weeks back, I went to a massage parlor where I had a body-to-body massage. She was lying on top of me. At that time, I did not wear any condom. I am not sure whether my penis touched her vagina. After five days, I was depressed and slept very late and went to the office early with freezing weather outside at minus 2 degrees. Since that day, I have been feeling tired with a hot body, unsure whether I have a fever. No other symptoms like cold or throat pain. I started to feel mild pain in the nearby lymph nodes under the neck, armpit, and groin area.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your anxiety; it is natural to feel that way. But you need to remain calm and think in the right way. The risk of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) transmission through a blowjob is negligible, and the WHO (World Health Organization) does not recognize this as a high-risk exposure. Also, HIV does not spread through bare contact unless there are visible cuts and bleeding. Thus, both acts have almost nil risk of HIV transmission, as there was no penetrative intercourse. You can get an HIV 4th-generation combo test at four weeks to confirm the same.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thanks for the reply.
Please help me understand why I have been feeling hot for the past week after the massage parlor incident; not sure of the fever. Also, my mouth tastes terrible when I eat towards the right side. If I try to identify the lymph on the neck, I feel pain in the mandible.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
We have seen many patients conclude that they are positive even before testing. You need to identify how stressed you are and try not to think about HIV. Your symptoms could be more psychological, and you can help yourself by doing some yoga and exercises. Meanwhile, you can take symptomatic medication such as paracetamol for pain.
Thank you.
