Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a query related to HIV(Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infection. I was masturbating in the toilet by rubbing my penis against the wall. But I was wearing underwear. I had some precum on my underwear. After that, I touched tap water with one hand. I used the same hand for touching my penis. I had some precum on my penis too and I touched my penis with that hand. Is there a chance for me to have HIV infection? My family has six members and nobody has HIV infection.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
There is no risk of contracting HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection from the provided description, as it does not involve a risk of exposure to the virus. HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, specifically targeting a type of white blood cell called CD4 cells or T-cells, which play a crucial role in helping the body fight off infections.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert if there is any query.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Can I have a chance to have herpes or an STD or any other? Nobody in my family has HIV. Can I take the risk?
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
HIV gets transmitted only by having sexual contact with an HIV-infected person, blood transfusion, using contaminated syringes or needles, or from HIV infected mother to her baby during pregnancy, delivery or through breast milk. If you have any of these mentioned risk factors, then get tested for HIV. It cannot be transmitted through air, sharing food, sharing articles, kissing, through mosquito or flies. Having any other STD (sexually transmitted diseases) in the body increases the risk of having HIV infection. It occurs while having unprotected contact with untreated STD-affected persons.
I hope this helps.
Kindly revert if there is any query.
Thank you.
