Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I had protected sex with a girl. Maybe her vagina touched my penis sometimes but not penetrated. After four weeks of this exposure, three boils occurred in the front belt area. After taking the antibiotics, it was cured within one week.
After 13 weeks of exposure, I have a very small lymph node near my left ear now. It is not enlarged in size, and it has been the same for two weeks. I am very scared of having HIV.
Please help me. I got tested after six weeks with a rapid HIV test, and the result was negative. Are these symptoms of HIV?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I read your query and understand your concern.
Most STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) transmit via body fluids like semen or vaginal fluid or by saliva. If these fluids were not in direct contact with your body, then there is very little possibility of having HIV. The incubation period is three months for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus). So, for clear results, you should do an HIV test after three months of exposure.
Hope this information helps you.
Feel free to ask further queries.
Thank you.
