Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 35 year old female. I got diagnosed with HIV. It has become challenging for me both mentally and physically. I often experience a fever and feel exhausted nowadays. I want to get cured of HIV. But my doctor told me that there is no cure for HIV. I am very curious to know about new treatments or alternative therapies available to manage this condition. I have a few questions about family planning. Is it possible for me to have children in the future without passing the virus to the baby? How to monitor my immune system health often?
Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a chronic disease that affects the immune system. There is presently no cure for it. However, there are available drugs for it. The current medication used now is Tenofovir, Lamivudine, and Dolutegravir. What drugs are you taking? If you are having a fever and feeling tired, we need to investigate and know why. It might not be HIV. Get the tests, such as viral load, CD4 count, renal function test, and liver function test, to check your immunity. I suggest you consult a psychologist as well. Do follow-up for more details. I hope you find this helpful.
Thank you.
