Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 24-year-old female. My major concern is that my alanine aminotransferase or serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase is 165 international units/liter, and aspartate aminotransferase/serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase is 128 international units/liter; both are very high.
As per tests, other concerns are low hemoglobin, prediabetic, slightly high cholesterol, very low vitamin D, high protein in (both LFT and KFT), high calcium, and slightly high uric acid. Rest, all other things are normal.
Please tell me a remedy that needs to be done, especially for the high SGPT and SGOT levels. And also, how serious is that?
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
The results from your recent liver function tests indicate elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, which are concerning and may suggest liver inflammation or damage. Elevated alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase levels can indicate liver damage or inflammation.
Conditions like hepatitis, fatty liver disease, medication side effects, or excessive alcohol consumption must be ruled out. A physical examination by a gastroenterologist or hepatologist is crucial. A hemoglobin level is slightly below the normal range, which may indicate mild anemia.
Prediabetes with elevated blood glucose levels and slightly high cholesterol levels should be managed through lifestyle modifications such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, and possibly medication prescribed by a doctor.
Very low vitamin D levels indicate a deficiency, which can have implications for bone health and overall well-being. Supplementation with vitamin D and exposure to sunlight are common approaches to address this deficiency. Depending on the cause of elevated protein, calcium, and uric acid levels, further tests may be needed to determine the underlying conditions.
Regarding your reported symptoms of frequent severe headaches with vomiting tendencies, vertigo, fatigue, pain in limbs and shoulders, and burning sensation under the feet, these must be physically examined by doctors.
I hope that you got your answer.
Please let me know if you want some help.
Thank you.
