Hi doctor,
I am a 40-year-old male with a weight of 198 lbs. I have two lesions on my penis. I consulted a doctor and he told me that you have a recurrence of HSV. But I do not have a history of HSV. These lesions appeared after a day of receiving a hand job. But I did not do penetration and there is no exchange of body fluids. Her hands were present without infections. Please give your second opinion and I am uploading the picture. The lesion does not look like blisters and they are slightly sensitive without pain.

If the doctor tells about the recurrence, then it can be due to herpes zoster virus (HZV). Please mention whether you had chickenpox in childhood or later in adulthood. Chickenpox is caused by herpes zoster and it usually recurs when the immunity goes down. Herpes simplex can also cause recurrence when there is a reduction in immunity. The cross-contamination that occurred during sexual activity (during hand job) can cause a new herpes infection. Recurrent herpes simplex can occur in healthy individuals of any age. It is usually aggravated by UV (ultraviolet) light, physical or emotional stress, upper respiratory illness, and hormonal changes. Recurrences occur in almost all the person suffering from symptomatic primary herpes and herpes simplex type 2. Recurrent genital herpes simplex virus type 1 infection can occur five times in rare cases. The affected individuals show initial symptoms such as altered sensations or lumbosacral pain before few days before having eruption of skin lesions in the genitalia. Compared to the primary infection, symptoms of recurrence are less severe and the course of the disease is shorter.

I got chickenpox when I was a child. I am having a hard time after knowing the diagnosis. First, the woman who did the hand job does not have infections on her hand and herpes infection. Because I asked her after I got these lesions. I got the results from the blood work, and it was negative for both HSV 1 and HSV 2. Also, I still have rashes without blisters and pain. I am trying to do a swab test.

As you had chickenpox earlier, it can remain in the ganglia and cause recurrence when immunity is reduced. Please share the blood reports. The lesions do not appear as fungal or bacterial infections, so viral infection must be diagnosed. I suggest you apply Acyclovir 5 percent cream on the lesions. You can also apply local applications containing antifungals and antibiotics. You can use Mupirocin along with mild steroids such as Mometasone or Fluticasone.
