Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have been having bad heartburn for weeks now. It is worse after eating fast food, which I rely on because I am always on the road. Lately, I have also been getting a bitter taste in my mouth and a weird feeling of fullness in my chest even when I have not eaten much. I do not have the time to see a doctor regularly, but I am worried this could get worse if I do not handle it. Are there any over-the-counter options or quick dietary fixes I can try while traveling? I would appreciate any advice that fits my lifestyle.
Please help.
Hi
Welcome to icliniq.com
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Hi, Happy day.
Taking OTC antacids or H2 blockers like Ranitidine or Famotidine can provide temporary relief.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), like Omeprazole, offer longer-term acid control but may take days to work.
You need to adjust your diet by choosing grilled or baked options over fried and avoiding spicy or acidic foods.
Eating smaller, frequent meals can reduce the symptoms.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
