Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My 63-year-old father's ECG (electrocardiogram) and echocardiogram report show that he had an inferior heart attack. Does it require angiography? Please help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It depends upon symptoms and when the attack occurred. Send me his ECG (electrocardiogram) and echocardiography. What were his symptoms? Also, details of his medications.
Please revert so I can assist you further.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for your reply.
The heart attack happened at the end of the last month. I am attaching his reports for your reference.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
ECG (electrocardiography) and echocardiography reports attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity) show changes in the inferior wall of the heart. Now, it depends upon when this occurred. If it occurred recently, then angiography should be done. If time is not known, and symptoms of chest pain occur, angiography should be done. If there is no chest pain, even on moderate exertion, a stress test should be done to see inducible ischemia and assess prognosis. If high-risk features are present on the stress test or ischemia is inducible, angiography should be done again. If severe stenosis of the coronary blood vessels is present on the angiography reports, then angioplasty needs to be done. Thank you.
