How to control hair thinning and hair loss?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am having a lot of hair fall and thinning of hair, especially in the front. I was breastfeeding my 2.5-year-old and stopped a few months back. My thyroid is also normal. Kindly suggest a remedy.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Usually, hair fall is seen due to vitamin differences or specifically, PCOD (polycystic ovary disease) is the most common cause for hair fall. So you have to treat it accordingly.

First of all, we have to rule out PCOD. If you get irregular periods, then there can be PCOD, or let me know if you have.

Apart from that, I would suggest you not to use different kinds of shampoos choose one and use it.

Do not wash the head with warm water.

Avoid hairdryer.

Wash your hair only two or three times a week.

Apply vitamin E hair oil 30 minutes before having a bath. Gently massage your head and then wash it with shampoo. Use it two times a week for a month.

Soak 5-7 almonds in water overnight and then eat them in the morning.

Eat a healthy diet which contains all the minerals.

The Probable causes

PCOD.

Differential diagnosis

Probable diagnosis

Hair fall.

Treatment plan

Vitamin E oil. Rich nutrition diet.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Periods are regular. I do not have a PCOD problem. I got it more post pregnancy and lately after stopping breastfeeding.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If you do not have PCOD, then it is great. Your hair fall is mostly due to vitamin deficiencies, so I suggest you continue with the treatment I told you and let me know after a month.

If you cannot maintain a healthy diet, such as eating fruits and vegetables daily, then I would recommend you to add tablet Zincovit 500 mg one tab after meal every night before you go to bed for one month. And you will notice a change.

Follow up after one month.
