Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My age is 24, and I am a girl. My hair growth has stopped for two years. Sometimes hair grow, but they break at some point. Even the height of the hair is not equal. Please suggest me something. Even though I take pills, I tried everything, like shampoos, oils, etc. I used a Revivoderm tablet one month ago but did not get results. I have also undergone a check-up, and the doctor gave me some medicine, but it did not work out. Please help me out.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Various reasons, including nutritional, dietary deficiencies, stress, previous illness, external damage due to color treatments, and improper hair care routine can cause inadequate hair growth and brittle hair. Kindly note the following:

1. Eat a healthy balanced diet. Eat at least one serving of fruit daily. Regular green leafy vegetables and pulses are a must.

2. Drink at least three to four liters of water daily.

3. Use a medicated biotin-containing shampoo that will not damage your hair and promote growth. Use a conditioner on your hair length every time you shampoo your hair. The conditioner works as a moisturizer for your hair and will repair your hair over time.

4. Avoid procedures like hair color, straightening, keratin treatment, etc. Let your hair repair for the next three to four months.

5. Take biotin and vitamin D-containing supplements for at least three months.

6. Get yourself tested for nutritional deficiencies like iron and vitamin D, and get a fasting thyroid profile done.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
