Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have recently observed that my hair has started thinning, and I can see some grey hair too. I consulted a few doctors; according to them, it is male-pattern baldness. Nobody in my family has male pattern baldness. Before this started, I used to feel pain in my joints. I did some tests and learned that my vitamin D level is around 10 ng/mL, which is very little. So can it be the possible cause for my hairloss?
Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Vitamin D deficiency can cause hair loss, but hair thinning is a classical feature of male pattern baldness. I suggest you use Minoxidil 5 % lotion 1 mL twice daily along with Vitamin D capsules 60000 IU (International Units) once a week for three months.
Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her and start the medicine with their consent.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the response.
I meant hairloss and not hair thinning. I have been working from home for the past seven months and do not go out much. I do not want to use Minoxidil. Can my hair loss be cured?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Hair loss can be controlled by vitamin D supplementation. I would also suggest you use the tablet Follihair (Multivitamin) once daily for two months.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
