Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I saw the attached pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity); it looks like a gingival injury caused by hot food or rough brushing technique.

This can be due to the following reasons;

1) Injury due to hot or spicy food.

2) Infection or underlying caries in the adjacent teeth.

3) False brushing technique.

4) Chewing something hard.

I suggest you give it some time, relax and have patience; in the meantime, take cold and soft food, try keeping an icepack at the spot, brush gently, and gargle with warm water. For pain, I suggest taking tablet Ibuprofen and applying the oral numbing gel like Orasore gel (Choline Salicylate, Lignocaine, Benzalkonium Chloride, Glycerine, and Spearmint) or Orajel (Benzocaine and Zinc chloride).

I hope it all helps you.

Take care.
