What are glaucoma symptoms and how to manage eye stress?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been feeling quite stressed about my eyes lately, especially since I have heard about glaucoma. Could you please inform me about the symptoms I should be aware of that might indicate glaucoma affecting my vision? I am somewhat anxious and just want to ensure I catch any issues early. Also, any advice on managing this eye situation would be a huge help right now.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Glaucoma is a condition where intraocular pressure (IOP) is increased beyond 20 mm Hg. The usual observed symptoms include a feeling of pressure in the eye, pain in the eye, headaches, rainbow-colored halos around lights, low vision, blurred vision, tunnel vision, nausea, and vomiting, I would suggest you get your IOP checked so that a proper diagnosis can be made. It is also necessary to check the angle of the eye to find out if there are any issues with that.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

To get angle of the eye checked as well as full internal check up of the eye.
