Can gastritis cause pain in the chest?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male suffering from chest pain for the past two months. But my ECG report is normal with negative TMT (treadmill test) result. I am taking medication for gastritis.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From the report attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), your ECG (echocardiogram) is normal, and your TMT (treadmill test) is negative. The chest pain is due to non-cardiac muscular pain. Follow the below instructions. Do jogging or walk for 15 to 30 minutes, five days per week. I suggest tablet Paracetamol 650 mg or tablet with the combination of Ibuprofen 400 mg, Chlorzoxazone 250 mg, and Paracetamol 325 mg as and when required. Do a serum vitamin D test. If there is vitamin D deficiency, I suggest capsule vitamin D3 once a week for six weeks. Consult a psychologist or psychiatrist for anxiety-related issues.
