Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My son suffers from a gas problem. We got an X-ray, and I have attached it.
Please advise.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
It is surprising to hear that you have taken an X-ray for a gas problem. I have gone through the X-ray (attachment removed to protect patient identity), and there is no anomaly. It is not uncommon to have a gas problem in a two-year-old child.
If it is intense, then you can test his stool for pathogens, especially yeasts and germs. It can cause a microbiological imbalance in the middle and lower digestive tract. Normally, a change in nutrition helps to solve the problem.
In older persons, probiotics are given in this case. But your son is too young to have probiotics. You can give natural yogurt without sugar. Just give him two tablespoons of plain yogurt with each meal for eight weeks. It can be beneficial.
Check his stool for any pathogens if there is no relief. Avoid taking unnecessary X-rays.
I hope this helps you.
Thank you.
