Why am I suffering from a fungal infection in my foot for the last three to four months?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am in the fifth decade of my life, and I have been suffering from a fungal infection in my foot for the last three to four months.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I advise you on the following. Keep the foot clean and dry. Avoid contact with detergents or soaps. Mix Ketoconazole 2% ointment and Salicylic Acid 24 % ointment and apply to the affected area twice a day for one month. Moisturize the whole foot with a urea-based moisturizer. For itching, take the tablet Bilastine 20 mg sos (if and when needed).

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I need these medicines in my country for my father, but he cannot purchase them there without a prescription. Can you please prescribe some medicines generic in nature? He cannot meet any dermatologist here due to the covid restrictions.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Ketoconazole, Salicylic Acid and Bilastine are generic names.
