This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a skin problem on my buttocks for the past four years. Due to this severe itching sensation, my skin on the buttocks became black. Please help me get rid of this disease and get back my original color of skin. Kindly suggest me some medicines. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. I will help you with your concern. From your history, it seems that you have a fungal infection. But I need to see these rashes so I can confirm the diagnosis. Also, I need to know your age to decide the dose and suggest your treatment accordingly. Kindly revert. Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for your reply.

I am 30 years old. Please help me get back my original skin color and a cure from this itching problem. I have used some ointments, but those are not helpful. I will attach the pictures. Please help me by curing this.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You still have an active infection, as I can see scaling (attachment removed to protect patient identity). First, let us treat this infection then black spots. But remember, black spots will take time to go away. The laser is the best treatment option for black marks. I will give you cream for black spots, but this will take at least six months to fade. For now, apply Onabet (Sertaconazole nitrate) lotion two times daily for three weeks. After three weeks, I will assess again and suggest a cream for dark spots if the infection resolves. Thanks and regards.
