Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have an infection in my private area for a month. A white substance is gathering over the skin. No matter, how much I wash and how much I peel it off, it is not going. It is causing a little bit of itching also. I tried taking Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg for three days. There is a lot of improvement. It was almost gone. But, it came back again within two days. I am attaching the picture of the infection. I also have some pimples surfaced on my face.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your attachment (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

Please follow these instructions.

1. Avoid sweating and friction as much as you can.

2. Wash your clothes separately. As this is a fungal infection, it can spread to other family members.

3. Wear loose clothes.

4. Maintain good hygiene.

5. Take Tablet Terbinafine 250 mg once daily for 21 days.

6. Mix Clotrimazole and Hydrocortisone cream in equal amount and apply on your affected area two to three times a day.

7. Azithromycin has no role. So stop it.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
