Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am female. 42 years. I suffer from excess urination. If I drink a half cup of water I have to go to the toilet after 15 minutes. I go to the toilet a minimum two times during sleeping. I am not diabetic. I have normal blood pressure, no family stress. I do not feel any burning sensation during urination. From 8 AM to 1 PM (five hours). I go four times to the toilet. I feel I urinate more than the water I drink. I went to the general doctor, she told maybe I have UTI. I told her I do not feel any burning sensation besides that I have normal urine analysis test. She said maybe you have an asymptomatic infection and asked me to do an ultrasound. I got an ultrasound done and it was normal. Only my bladder has thickened walls 3.8 mm. I am 5.2 feet in height and 165 pounds. The doctor gave me Ofloxacin tablets and said if you did not get any benefits from this antibiotic, go to a Urologist. In short, my problem is excess urination in a short time and I have to go to the toilet fast. I cannot hold it for a long time. My life has been changed for worse. I am stuck at home. I cannot go for a walk or for a long trip because I need to use the toilet and I do not like using public toilets. Please, I need help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
If your reports are normal, there is no point in taking antibiotics unnecessarily. Limit your fluid intake to say about 5.2 pints per day. Try holding urine for five minutes more each time, to increase your holding time for example 45 minutes to now 50 minutes. After one week, add five more minutes to hold, this will train your bladder. You can start tab Soliten (Solifenacin succinate) 5 mg once daily at bedtime, take for at least 15 days for a response. This may cause some dry mouth or constipation. This medicine is not to be taken if you have glaucoma, asthma or heart disease. Take care.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
For how many months I can take tablet Soliten?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can take lifelong if needed. Usually, a three-month course is good, you can stop and see. If symptoms recur, you may restart. Some patients can stop after three to four months. If you are prone to infections, these may still occur and require treatment.
