Can a vibrator cause urinary urgency, severe discomfort, and vaginal gas in someone using it for the first time?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a sensitive question and need help. I used a vibrator for the first time yesterday (with penetration and at high speed) and have been experiencing discomfort since.

One is the frequent need to pee even though I have just gone to the bathroom. Second is the feeling of something stuck in the front of my vagina (as if there is gas or a bubble), and if I cross my legs, I feel it more. And the feeling does not go away. However, I do not feel pain, but there is severe discomfort. These symptoms are scaring me.

What causes them, and is there a remedy?

Please give your suggestions.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

This could most likely occur due to some mild infection in the urinary tract. Using a vibrator might have caused mild injury due to friction or contamination. For discomfort, I suggest you take OTC (over-the-counter) drugs like Ibuprofen (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) or paracetamol (an antipyretic and analgesic).

This will relieve the pain. In addition, I suggest you drink plenty of water and eat citrus fruits. This will help in early recovery. Also, consuming cranberry juice could help reduce pain and discomfort. If you see any discharge or blood in your urine, visit a doctor for treatment; otherwise, this will resolve in a couple of days.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them, and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you out.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please follow the steps I mentioned, and you will be alright.

  1. Always follow hygienic practices.
  2. You can wash the vibrator with soap and water before use.
  3. You may use a condom, which will protect you.

I hope this has helped you out.

Thank you.
