Which is the best formula milk for a 50-day-old baby, and how to increase breast milk production?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a new mom. My daughter is 50 days old. I am giving her formula feed since I do not have enough milk supply. Initially, I gave her Dexolac, and then my friend suggested Nan Pro Stage 1, so I started giving her Nan Pro 1. And her stools have been greenish for the last ten days. I gave her Dexolac for the first 20 days and moved to Nan Pro 1 afterward.

I want to know which formula powder is the best for my baby. And is there any way to increase my breast milk?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

A greenish stool means your daughter is passing the stool quite often. Perhaps a milk allergy.

I suggest changing her formula to a hypoallergenic formulation stage 1.

The most effective way to increase breast milk is to keep your baby breastfeeding quite often during the day and night. Sucking will help improve the breast milk. Of course, having foods like dairy, beans, meat, or seafood can help increase breast milk.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
