Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have a problem with my foreskin swelling and also experiencing pain. I am a 37-year-old male and had my circumcision done seven years back. There were some inflammation and occasional pain through these years but recently have been experiencing more inflammation and pain in that area. Please advise on the treatment for this. I am currently using anti-inflammatory medication and a corticosteriod cream to the inflamed area. Siloderm mixi, Augmentin 625 mg and Lytix-D tablets.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
The treatment you are taking is perfect. Since how many days are you taking these current medications? Based on the information you already gave, I recommend you to add on to this treatment. Xylocaine jelly 2% or Lidocaine spray local application twice a day, tablet Pregabalin 75 mg OD for four weeks and see for the results. Any history of exposure to a new partner or unprotected sex? Are you a diabetic? Have you ever been checked for the same? It will be great if you can upload a picture depicting your swollen glans. I am asking the picture because the swelling and inflammation you are talking off may not be actually the same, instead, you might be having hyperesthesia or neurogenic pain. So, in that case, we might have to revise the treatment.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
I have been using this medication for the last three days. I am using Siloderm mixi for the last seven days. But currently, I do not see any improvement. I am not a diabetic. I check my blood sugar levels regularly. I have not had sex in the last couple of months. But I regularly masturbate and had been doing so before this problem started. For the last four weeks, I have not masturbated. Also, I want to know if I should continue taking the existing medication and ointment and also add these medications prescribed by you to the course of treatment. Please find the attached pictures for your reference.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I checked all the pictures. (attachment removed to protect patient identity). I am writing the whole prescription again to rule out any confusion. Corticosteroid cream to the inflamed area for two weeks. Siloderm mixi (Beclometasone, Clotrimazole and Neomycin) continue for two weeks, Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) for a total of five days, Lytix-D (Serratiopeptidase) tablets for a total of five days. Xylocaine jelly 2% or Lidocaine spray local application twice a day for two weeks, tablet Pregabalin 75 mg OD for four weeks and see for results. I hope everything is clear now.
