What are the possible causes of collapsed follicle and hemorrhagic cysts?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I did not get my period. I took a pregnancy test, and it came negative. I also got my follicular scan, and it shows the right ovary has collapsed follicle and the left ovary has a 14 mm hemorrhagic cyst. Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Sometimes periods might get delayed by one or two weeks because of some stress or recent illness. The kit may also show false results in the early days. So I could suggest you wait for one more week, even if periods would not come, then do a urine pregnancy test with an early morning sample for precise results.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
