Patient's Query

Hello doctor

I have a dry cough along with a fever. Firstly it all started with a dry cough after that fever. Now I have a runny nose along with an occasional cough with mucus. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You may have a respiratory illness like the common cold or flu. I suggest visiting your doctor to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. In the meantime, here are some tips to help you feel better:

  1. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, clear broths, frozen water, ice pops, or clear juices.
  2. Rest as much as possible and avoid physical activity.
  3. Use a humidifier or take a steamy shower to help relieve coughing and congestion.
  4. Avoid smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke.
  5. Over-the-counter pain relievers such as Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or Ibuprofen (Advil) can help relieve fever and muscle aches. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take medications with their consent.
  6. Use saline nasal drops to help relieve nasal congestion.
  7. Stay home and avoid close contact with others to prevent the spreading of the illness.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, seek medical attention right away.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
