Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 25-year-old male. I do not have a deep voice and sound like a girl. What should I do? Kindly advise.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern. The deepening of voice is due to the hormone testosterone produced during puberty. Are your other secondary sexual characteristics like body hair, pubic hair, height, beard, penis, and testicles fully developed? If not, then there could be a hormonal problem. However, if the complaint is only about voice deepening, we can address it in a few ways. It would be helpful if you could record audio of your voice and send it to us. I suggest you try the Gutzman test. This test will help us assess if you will be benefitted from surgical methods to deepen your voice. Another technique is voice therapy. Though the results take time, the treatment works wonders in committed individuals. It involves producing sounds in various frequencies under supervision. Do write back if you need information on any of these treatments. I will be happy to help. Thank you.
