Facing issues with fecal incontinence, How to get rid of this permanently?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been facing issues with fecal incontinence. I am unable to control stools. I also have irregularity in passing stools.

It is like the moment I feel like going to the toilet, I get heavy pain inside my stomach, and after that, I am unable to control stool movement.

There is also some gas passing through when stools come out. What measures can I take to get rid of this permanently?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The condition that you have mentioned might be due to constipation. Constipation causes hard stool impaction, and around which soft liquid stool percolates.

Take syrup Piclin (Sodium picosulfate) 5 mL twice a day for three days. Also, take methylcellulose husk, 3 spoons twice daily. For fecal incontinence, drink plenty of water (at least five to seven pints per day) and follow a high-fiber diet.

Try to go to the toilet only in the morning and avoid frequent defecation. Report back after 15 days to an online gastroenterologist for follow-up.

I hope this helps.

Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
