Patient's Query
Hello,
I just found out that I have an endometrioma of 1.57 inches on my left ovary. My CA-125 test was 77 U/ml. I am currently 29 years old. I want to know if I will be able to get pregnant.
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
An endometrioma (chocolate cyst) on the left ovary and an elevated CA (cancer antigen) -125 (77 U/mL) suggest endometriosis, which can affect fertility. However, many women with endometriosis conceive naturally or with medical help.
You can get pregnant. But fertility may be reduced. Endometriosis can affect your ovulation if cysts interfere with ovarian function. It can cause inflammation, make implantation harder, and lead to adhesions that block fallopian tubes.
Consult a fertility specialist if you plan to conceive soon; they can evaluate your ovarian reserve and tube health. Monitor your ovarian function and do tests like AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone), which can check your egg reserve.
Consider treatment depending on severity:
If you have symptoms (pain, irregular cycles), plan for surgery (laparoscopy), it may help improve fertility. If you do not have severe symptoms, doctors may suggest trying natural first or assisted reproductive techniques like IVF (in-vitro fertilization) if needed.
I hope you will find this information helpful.
Thank you.
