Is the dizziness related to anti-anxiety drugs?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am experiencing random dizziness these days, along with vomiting. But I just had my period four days ago, so it is not pregnancy. I am currently under medication for depression and anxiety.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Dizziness and vomiting can be seen in different conditions.

1. The period of taking the medicines that you mentioned.

2. If you have started it recently, these symptoms can have an adverse effect.

3. Apart from that, these symptoms can be related to an infection.

4. Imbalance of sodium and potassium levels can also cause these symptoms.

Also, consult a neurologist as these symptoms are commonly seen in neurological issues like vertigo. Physical examination is necessary so consulting a neurologist in person is recommended. The doctor will guide you with further management once the underlying cause is identified.

Hope this helps.
