Why is there an abnormal smell, constant discharge, and pain in the area of IUD insertion?

Hello doctor,

I think my IUD is out of place. I am having extremely heavy and elongated discharge, which I thought might have started off as a period, but I do not know what it is now. I have an abnormal smell, constant discharge, and pain from the area where the IUD was placed, all through my right leg.

Kindly help.
