How to manage stomach pain, cramping, and diarrhea?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My partner and I have symptoms of stomach pain, cramping and diarrhea for two days now. It got started after we had a meal. Please help us.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have acute gastroenteritis as a result of food poisoning. Mostly, it is self-limiting within a few days. But we have to rule out other severe conditions like typhoid. Please mention whether you have any skin rash or bloody diarrhea. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Take Buscopan tablet (Hyoscine butyl bromide) for every six hours. You can take Imodium 4 mg (Loperamide) tablet after each motion of diarrhea. It will help to stop diarrhea.
