Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I got my dental checkup done recently. A small cavity was observed on the side of my tooth between two teeth. I am attaching a photo of the X-ray. Please check the second upper tooth from the left in the X-ray. Also, let me know if this can be cured by filling?
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I checked the X-ray (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Yes, this can be cured by restoration.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Is it similar to a dental filling? How long does it last?
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Filling and restoration have the same meaning, and just the terms are different. Different types of dental filling material can be used. There are different types of permanent filling material, such as silver amalgam, composite, etc. Amalgam is silverish black, and composite is tooth-colored. You cannot make out the filling as it merges with the tooth. It is difficult to say how long the filling will last. It depends upon the usage. Sometimes, while removing caries, the hole in the tooth looks too big, so we do a temporary filling and call the patient after two weeks for a permanent filling. But the filling does not come out too soon.
I hope this helps.
Feel free to reach out in case of further queries.
Thank you.
Thank you.
