What can cause difficulties in conception after abortion?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old and have been struggling to get pregnant ever since my last abortion, after which I had a dilation and curettage. I received the Depo-Provera injection once, and it has been three years now.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

Regarding your symptoms, I believe you have developed a delayed pregnancy, possibly due to a hormone imbalance caused by the abortion procedure you underwent. I suggest you undergo a hormone profile test and share the results with me. Additionally, please take one tablet of Letrozole 5 mg orally once daily for one month to help with the pregnancy.

I hope this has helped you.

Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.
