Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My fiancé and I had protected sex during and after the ovulation window, and I made sure to ejaculate outside on both occasions. Additionally, I carefully checked the condom for any punctures, but there were none present. Her periods did not occur on the expected date. She did a urinary pregnancy test, which yielded a negative result. It is worth noting that her period sometimes gets delayed by one week, which adds to my concern. Could you please help me? I hope she is not pregnant. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read and understand your concerns. If you have taken all the necessary precautions, the possibility of pregnancy is very low. Sometimes, periods can be delayed by one or two weeks due to stress. My suggestion is to wait for one more week. If her periods do not come by then, you can perform a urine pregnancy test using a morning sample to get more accurate results. If the test is negative, you may consider inducing her periods using the withdrawal method. I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to ask any further questions.

Regards.
