How can someone get rid of acne and dark spots on the back, upper arm, and chest?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Because of body acne, I have a lot of dark spots on my back, upper arms, and chest region. I have been using a dark spot corrector with little results. I was wondering if there was a treatment that could help fade all my dark pigmentation instantly or quickly.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

1. Use mild skin care products well formulated to eliminate the spots left behind the acne.

2. Use a BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) exfoliant daily.

3. Alpha hydroxy acids (Glycolic or Lactic Acid) can help fade uneven skin tone.

4. Use a broad-spectrum (SPF 30) sunscreen daily, without exception. Unprotected exposure to UV light steadily damages the skin, which means the red areas from acne.

5. Use products loaded with antioxidants, especially vitamin C serum.

6. Dermaroller, along with subscision, is also another method.

7. Chemical peels with glycolic acid is also an option. If scars are not much prominent, then peels also could be effective.

These are techniques you can go through. All procedures take four to six sittings and five to six months for better results.

Thank you.
